  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter preferably smooth
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce use tamari or coconut aminos for gluten-free options
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lemon juice as a substitute
  • 2 cloves garlic minced finely
  • 1/4 cup water warm, to loosen the sauce

Method
 

  1. Measure out the peanut butter and add it to a small saucepan.
  2. Add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and minced garlic to the saucepan with the peanut butter.
  3. Pour in the warm water and whisk everything together over low heat until the mixture is smooth, glossy, and heated through, about 2-3 minutes. You’ll notice the sauce thickening and becoming fragrant with garlic and toasted peanut aroma.
  4. If the sauce is too thick, add a little more warm water, whisking until you reach your desired pourable consistency.
  5. Once the sauce is silky, fragrant, and heated evenly, remove it from the heat.
